All About Mrs. Palazzo.... I always knew as a child that when I grew up, I wanted to have a job that involved helping children. So teaching was the obvious choice! I graduated from Adelphi University with a Bachelors degree in elementary education in 1998. I was so excited to start working in my own classroom and began my career as a first grade teacher at St. Mel's in Flushing. While working, I went to St. John's University part time and earned a Masters degree in Reading in 2003. As life progressed, I looked for a change of scenery and moved to Maryland and taught 5th grade ELA. After I returned from my out of state adventure, I began my new adventure- Marriage and Motherhood!! I have been blessed with a wonderful husband, Anthony, and my two beautiful children- Amanda and AJ.. After a few years away from the classroom, I was extremely fortunate to be hired here at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Catholic Academy. Here, I have taught 5th/6th grade math and science, Kindergarten, and first grade (for the past two years and couldn't be happier!). I believe first grade is where I belong- I love the opportunity to teach young children how to read and write. It's the foundation they need to grow. It is very rewarding and I am looking forward to the new school year and the chance to watch a new bunch of children learn and grow!
